Community Health Centres
Somerset West Community Health Centre is a non-profit, community-governed organization in the heart of Chinatown. They offer a range of services including a safe consumption site, recreational programming and key services to meet the needs of neighbours.
The Centretown Community Health Centre offers a range of services to meet the needs of our diverse community. This includes mental health resources, parenting supports, harm reduction services and access to showers and bathrooms for people experiencing homelessness.
Ottawa Victim Services
Ottawa Victim Services provides support to people who have been victims of crime or other tragic circumstances. Their programs include emotional support, referrals and financial assistance.
The Ottawa Food Bank provides fresh and non-perishable food as well as toiletries to over 100 emergency food programs in Ottawa.
The Parkdale Food Centre offers a range of services including community breakfasts and lunches, drop in coffee, community fridges and more.
HighJinx is a social enterprise, community hub and friendly living room for vulnerable neighbours, providing meals, toiletries, snacks and community to people of all backgrounds.
The Dalhousie Food Cupboard serves neighbours who live in Ottawa between Lyon Street and Breezehill Avenue, and between Carling Avenue and the Ottawa River with monthly food hampers.
Substance use and harm reduction
The Consumption and Treatment service is a health service that provides a safe and hygienic environment where people bringing pre-obtained drugs can pop, snort or inject drugs under the supervision of medical staff. Staff does not supply drugs.
Ottawa Inner City Health works with many service providers across Ottawa to provide programming for people who are chronically homeless or living with addiction. This includes harm reduction programs such as management of alcohol, managed opiate program and operate a supervised consumption site.
Montfort Renaissance provides a range of inpatient and outpatient services through the Service Access to Recovery program and the Ottawa Withdrawal Management Centre.
Recovery Care (formerly Recovery Ottawa) offers harm reduction programs and provides methadone, suboxone and sublocade treatment programs across the city.
The Door Youth Centre at 755 Somerset Street West, 2nd floor, is a space where people aged 12-18 can gain skills, build community and find mentors from the community. Their drop-in runs from 5pm-8pm, Monday to Friday, and they serve dinner ever evening.
